Hasselhoff Stays With Baywatch

David Hasselhoff isn't quite ready to hang up his swim trunks. The actor, who said last week that he was considering leaving Baywatch for roles in musical theater, has just signed a three-year contract to continue on as star and executive producer of the internationally popular jiggle-fest. That means that Hasselhoff, who has launched a very successful music career in Europe, will continue to shake the sand out of his trunks until 2001. "The past eight years have provided me with an opportunity to help craft a television series which has had a positive impact on viewers in every nation," said Hasselhoff, whose show airs in more than 110 countries. "Beyond its entertainment values, Baywatch has enriched, and in many cases, helped save lives. I'm looking forward to the opportunity to continue with a project which has had such a significance for so many." The show has been especially significant and life-saving to teenage boys, who have helped make the careers of buxom Baywatch babes Pamela Lee and Yasmine Bleeth.
