PARODY OR BAD ACTING?

(from MSNBC)

Whether Titans is campy self-parody or just a lot of lousy acting and dialog is difficult to gauge. But who cares? This is a silly, strangely enjoyable show featuring more contrived twists and turns than the cult classic movie “Wild Things.” See how long you can follow all the plots introduced in the pilot episode:

Chandler Williams (Casper Van Dien of Starship Troopers) comes home from the Navy just in time for his father’s wedding to Heather (Yasmine Bleeth of Baywatch”) — the woman who abandoned Chandler after a fling a couple months earlier in Hawaii. Even though she’s marrying his father, she has a big surprise for Chandler.

Meanwhile, Chandler’s father’s secretary is in love with Chandler, but it’s Chandler’s loutish brother who loves her. Chandler’s mother (Victoria Principal) lives across the street from her ex-husband, and she runs a nightclub with their two daughters, one of whom is a recovering alcoholic who’s unknowingly having an affair with a married man.

The whole Williams family also is involved in managing a multinational conglomerate. On top of it all, somehow longtime soap actor Jack Wagner, who is absent from the first episode, will become a series regular in the future.
