Penny portrays Les Van Buren, a former star of a TV cop show now out of showbiz and managing a store, which is hit by armed robbers. Their heist goes awry, and, in the ensuing tumult, Off. Hechler (Gary Basaraba) and store employees find themselves in a hostage situation. Desperate, Hechler asks for help from Van Buren, a role model for the officer's career. “I need you to step up,” Hechler entreats. “Be a hero again.” Spath: Brian Goodman. Hicks: Dorian Harewood.
