Synopsis:

IN THE SERIES PREMIERE THIS STYLISH ENSEMBLE DRAMA TELLS THE STREET-LEVEL STORY OF THE CITY OF ANGELS -- When a teenaged girl is killed during a suspected drive-by shooting, the story is revealed as it is experienced by the city's competing cops, paramedics, beat reporters and city officials. Detective Joel Stevens (Donnie Wahlberg) and his partner Bobby "Fearless" Smith (Mykelti Williamson) lead the investigation, while veteran officer Ray Hechler (Gary Basaraba) and his partner Tom Turcotte (Jason Gedrick) pursue a young African-American suspect (guest star Arlen Escarpeta, "American Dreams"). Meanwhile, politically savvy Deputy D.A. David McNorris (Neal McDonough) takes advantage of the tragedy to get some press for himself. Likewise, an ambitious reporter, Andrea Little (Nina Garbiras), tries to learn and leak the victim's identity. TV-14

) Debut: Diverse (at times clashing) points of view from its principal characters frame the criminal cases in this promising ensemble series set in L.A.

In the opener, a drive-by shooting leaves one young girl dead and another critically wounded. The ensuing investigation introduces the recurring cast: an astute deputy DA (Neal McDonough), romantically tied to a wily reporter (Nina Garbiras) who's covering the story; a veteran cop (Gary Basaraba) and his fledgling partner (Jason Gedrick); and a driven detective (Donnie Wahlberg) and his likable partner (Mykelti Williams). But it's a keen, compassionate paramedic (Lana Parrilla) who may be closest to learning what really happened.
